In History's Footsteps
Vrbas Adventure Resort is located in the southern part of Banja Luka territory. It comprises the midstream of Vrbas River between Banja Luka and Jajce, the mountains Manjaca ( peak Velika Manjaca 1239 m ), Osmaca and Tisovac, and settlements Krupa na Vrbasu and Karanovac. The area streches from north to south and takes 40 km in length and 30 km in widht from east to west. In total, the area takes 800 km2. This area is rich in cultural and historical monuments, diverse plant and animal species, of which some are relics and endemicdistinctive for canyon eco-systems. Due to high-quality water and rare fish species, the Vrbas Canyon has been under state protection since 1955.

On this route you will be welcomed by many attractive landmarks: a natural stone bridge, cascades and mills on Krupa River, Krupa Monastery, Krupa River dources, cave named Strikina Pecina, medieval tombstones ( stecak ) necropolis, Petar Kocic ethno village, Manjaca Lake, Gomionica River source, Gomionica Monastery.
All who successfully complete route are awarded with a gold-plated badge.
Group gathering from 8.00 am to 8.30 am.
Driving to Rekavice village, 20 km south from Banja Luka
9.30 am - Introduction from our guide/s about the tour and safety isuess;
Start : Rekavice village ( 20 km south from Banja Luka );
First day you will be welcomed by many attractive landmarks: a natural stone bridge, cascades and mills on Krupa River, Krupa Monastery, Krupa River dources, cave named Strikina Pecina, medieval tombstones ( stecak ) necropolis, Petar Kocic ethno village.; 1 hour brake for lunch is organised half way through the days route, after 3 - 3,5 hours walk. First day ends arround 5 pm, and transfer back to the city is organised ( there is a possibility to stay overnight in a mountain hut, with small additional payment ).
Second day hike starts arround 9.30 am, and you will visit Manjaca Lake, Gomionica River source and Gomionica Monastery at the end of the tour; 1 hour brake for lunch is organised half way through the days route, after 3 - 3,5 hours walk. Tour ends arround 5 pm.
6 pm transfer back to the city.

Please think about bringing with you:
- One botle of water 0,5 L ( eventhoug there are numerous mounatin springs of drinkable water )
- Some candy or food ( lunch is provided )
- Comfortable shoes
- Backpack
- Hat or baseball cap with sun screen
- Wind jacket
